- 3 cups flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 ground ginger
- pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 7/8 cup maple syrup
- 7/8 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- Frosting:
- 1 2/3 cups confectioner's sugar, sifted
- 2 tbsp softened butter
- 1/4 cup maple syrup
- 1 tbsp heavy cream
Sift the flour, baking soda, ginger and salt together into a bowl. In another bowl beat the egg, maple syrup and sour cream. Stir in melted butter. Pour the syrup mixture into the dry ingredients and mix together. Pour batter into greased 11 X 7 pan. Bake at 350F for 30 minutes. Let cool then spread frosting on the cake, cutting the gingerbread into bars.
